Today was the last day of the project…
I am sad to see Gita leave yet I am so pleased with the project and the response to the project.
We had two journalism students join us; they will be creating a five minute documentary about Gita and Open Space Lab. They were particularly interested in human rights, art and resistance and keen to hear more about how Gita and I met… in Palestine at a conference on art and resistance. I look forward to seeing the documentary when it is complete.
Yesterday at the end of the day, we spoke with Zahra, the woman whose story Gita is writing. It was a moving moment… to think about all she has shared. This particular project would not have been possible without her, without their conversations. I am convinced that her story resonates with viewers who have come to the gallery or visited the project online and hope the conversations will continue.
